Aquatic Branch
The aquatic session is running a full scale emergency action plan for the SHARP workshop. This will include fire department response, employee debriefing, media response, and critical incident stress.
We will have the fire department come in as they would for a serious incident in the pool area.
Goal of the activity:
-Transfer of care from guards to EMS
-What can we do as Aquatics supervisors to help our staff through an incident
-What can we do as Aquatics supervisors to help ourselves after an incident
Sports Branch Sessions
12p-1p Explore the history behind the fastest growing sport in the nation. Learn where the sport came from, how it received its famous name, and its current popularity. Once you know the background, take a deep dive into the rules and end with a brief lesson.
110p-210p Discover ways to bring pickleball programs to your community or how to help your program grow. Here we’ll discuss creating new programs like open play or lessons, explore helpful resources and supplies needs for successful programs, and review creating policies and conflict resolution.
220p-320pm Learn how to take your pickleball programs to the next level! This session will provide realistic strategies for implementing and managing pickleball tournaments, leagues and even the players. Walk away with the confidence you need to finally manage a league or tournament of your own.
Wellness Branch
12p-1p Wellness Branch Session: Supply and Demand- Participants will learn about supply and demand, identifying needs, resources, tapping into grants, facilities, partnerships and insurance reimbursement programs.
110p-210p Wellness Branch Session: Wellness Programming- Participants will discuss scheduling, space, equipment, staff, set up and actually creating a schedule for your facility programs/classes.
220p-320pm Wellness Branch Session: Grant Writing 101 – Identify how grants can help your ideas and projects, how to get started with the what, where and how of grant writing basics.
Recreation Branch
12-1P: Cost Recovery/Budgeting 101: Great session for first or second year programmers! Learn a glossary of terms to keep your budget above water and hands on practice in creating new program budgets.
110-210P: Take the Leap: Are you ready for a promotion? But not sure how to get there? Whether it is a lateral move to another organization or a promotion from within, learn from those who have made the leap!
220-320P: Governing Bodies: How, Who, Why?: Budgets, procedures, policies. You know we love them, but most of the time they are given to us by those who govern. Hear from our experienced panel on how to navigate your leaders to keep Parks & Recreation in the budget and viable in your community.
