Healthy Communities
Funding Initiative

To further KRPA's mission of advancing park and recreation opportunities that enhance the quality of life, PlayCore's Center for Professional Development, in partnership with their GameTIme brand, will provide state-wide professional development services and up to $1 million dollars in matching funding to assist parks in KRPA Regions install a pre-approved playground space that promotes best practices.

These sites will serve as National Demonstration Sites (NDS) for data collection and will contribute data towards the publication of a White Paper to be launched at the 2017 KRPA Conference that highlights best practices and outcomes achieved by the state-wide initiative. Demonstration Sites promote advocacy at the community and state levels, and provide education, networking opportunities and resources that align with KRPA's mission and strategic plan.

Congratulations to Chanute, Wichita, Leawood and Cheney for being the recipients of the 2016 Healthy Community Funding.
